Words are powerful. They can create, they can destroy. They can motivate, inspire, offer a bit of comfort to those in need.
I use words in written form because they are almost set in stone.
They leave a trail behind.
It’s such a definitive action, don’t you think?
But it’s not the only reason.
I write because I think we’re all made of stories. I’d like to find out what my story is.
Also, to me, words are beauty, so I aspire to create something beautiful.
I write because it gives me hope. It offers me an escape from the day to day madness of living in this world.
I write because it calms my soul.
I write because it’s the best way I know of to prove to others that I am alive. That I have lived… I think and I write what I think, therefore I exist.
Why do you write?
Words are a powerful tool.
I write to soothe my soul!
i also write because I feel I am made of stories striving to be told. Thank you for sharing your words. And your story. I appreciate it greatly.
Thank you for reading, Jon!
Beautiful post. As for me, I write to make some sort of contribution, in hopes that it may inspire or encourage another.
Those are all good reasons to write. I think we are all made of stories too. Thanks for the post.
I write to create a story out of words. I sit back and say” I made that.”
I suppose that what I write, mostly my story will be my legacy. Speaking in terms of with my daughter. It isn’t fortune or fame I want yet understanding and connection. Words do that for me.
I write because I’m miserable when I don’t.
I write because of the possibilities.
Definitely!
To help and inspire, and maybe offer a bit of comfort 🙂

Great post. I am a fan of the written word. Video and movies are nice but never as good as the book.
I love writing too, although I tend to see my writing as not been good enough. Words revive me.
