TMM: Is It Ever Enough?

Leonardo DaVinci’s last words were:

I have offended God and Mankind by doing so little with my life.

We really are our worst critics, aren’t we? We see the worst in ourselves. We stare at a mirror and all we see staring us back are flaws an faults and mistakes and so, so much to regret.

But isn’t this what keeps us going?

  1. I believe that God put me on this planet to do a certain number of things, and I’ve come to realize that I’m so far behind, I may never die.

No, seriously. I don’t want to stand before God and when he asks me what I did with the time he gave me, I don’t want to stare at the round and go, “uhhh, I don’t know.” That’s one conversation I don’t want to have with my Creator.

I think the worst conversation I can have however is how did I treat my fellow man, or the creatures entrusted to my care, or the world and things he gave me to be a steward of. Now that’s the talk that keeps me awake nights!

  2. I agree with this completely. Thank you for putting such thoughts into beautiful writing. We are our own worse critic. I guess it’s for the best. If not for own selves and we’ll never get anywhere.
