Find Your Fire

“if it doesn’t come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don’t do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don’t do it.”
Charles Bukowski

Passion. Defined as a strong and barely controllable emotion. Fire. Defined as a destructive burning of something. Sounds pretty bad now, doesn’t it? But, if you think about it for a while, creation is a destructive process. Or is it the other way around?

Never mind.

But I do wonder, did you find your passion? Are you sure? Is it the thing that controls you? Make you want to jump out of the bed in the morning? The thing you can’t live without?

You did not?

How does it feel to live like that? Without passion. Being lukewarm. Wishy-washy. A leaf in the wind.

Fun fact: high-performers have about 70% more energy than others. They act more, they do more, they get more stuff done in less time than the average person.

Maybe it’s passion that fuels them.

Maybe it’s the thing they can’t live without that makes them feel so alive that they are almost twice as better than the average person.

Think about it.

Did you find your passion? Or did you settle for it? Did you tell yourself a nice story as to why you can’t go all in? Are you playing it safe?

Are you lukewarm? Wishy-washy? A leaf in the wind?

Or are is there a fire burning deep inside your soul? One that nothing could ever extinguish?

Are you barely breathing and call it living?

If yes, why.

If not, congratulations. The world needs more people like you.
