First of all, being developed by Syfy, Krypton has the feel ( and special effects) of 2000s SF TV shows. More or less. Secondly, why are aliens wearing jeans?
Krypton is about Seg-El, Superman’s grandfather. Someone thought it a good idea. Marketing even promotes this guy as legendary, even though I do not think he’s that legendary at all.
A kryptonian on Krypton is a rather dull affair, which is also what the TV show kind of is. It’s counterproductive to be labeled as something related to Superman, because, well… they’re not super in any way. Not like the Man of Steel, obviously.
I only watched the first two episodes that have aired so far, and I am not sure if I am going to watch the next episodes.
Krypton may seem fascinating, but the truth is, a kryptonian is only interesting when under the influence of a yellow star. That’s my opinion.
I’m on the fence about watching when it airs in the UK. My main interest is seeing Blake Ritson’s villainous Brainiac, but your thoughts are what I’m concerned about, a superhero show with no superpowers!

I like it! It’s a drama about Krypton. In that movie Man of Steel, the first twenty minutes is Krypton. I’m interested in that whole angle of why Krypton was destroyed in the first place. It’s more Sci Fi than action adventure like Superman is. It’s a mature version with similar themes. The single hero against a curupt world. Good in a sea of bad. The fact that goodness is found in each and every one of us. A few people fighting the good fight can make a differences.
